Domain Name System (DNS) is a system that allows the name of a host on a computer network or the Internet translated into IP addresses. In giving the name, the DNS uses hierarchical architecture.

1. Root-level domains: an upper level which is shown as a dot (.).

2. Top level domains: organizational category code or country for example:. Com for use by the company;. Edu is used by the college; Gov for use by government agencies, In addition to distinguishing the use of the name by a country with other countries to use such marks. Id for Indonesia or. Au is for Australia.

3. Second level domain: is the name for the organization or company, for example: microsoft.com; yahoo.com, etc.

Router serves to divide two or more networks, but in fact Router is a networking device that is used to divide the members of the network protocol to another, with the router so a protocol may be sharing to other network devices. Examples of its application is that if we want to divide the IP Address to members of the network then we can use this router, the router features is the facility DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Procotol), by setting up DHCP, then we can divide an IP address, other facilities of the Router is presence of NAT (Network Address Translator) that can allow an IP address or a shared internet connection to another IP address.

The router works in a manner similar to switches and bridges. The difference is, the router is a filter or filters data traffic. Filtering is done using a particular protocol. The router is basically a divider network devices are logical rather than physical. The router can select the best alternative path (best route for the transport of data.), If indeed there are several ways to achieve the goal or if one path to the destination is lost for any reason.

Routers work at the physical layer, data link and network layer, so it can not be used carelessly. Routers are generally at least connected to two networks. Two LAN or WAN to LAN and the network of an ISP (Internet Service Provider). Some DSL modems and cable modem also has router functionality integrated into it to allow multiple computers to form networks and directly connected to the internet. If the hubs, bridges and switches are a networking device then the router is an internetworking device.

There are three types of routers:

1. Router Applications

2. Router Hardware

3. PC Router

Router application is an application that we can install the operating system pad, so the operating system will have capabilities such as routers, application examples are WinRoute, WinGate, SpyGate, WinProxy and others.

Router Hardware is a hardware router that has the ability like router, so that the hardware can transmit or share IP addresses and to sharing the IP Address, in practice Router hardware is used to share Internet connection on a space or territory, an example of this is the access router point, the region can get Ip Address and an internet connection is called Hot Spot Area.

Router PC is the Operating System has the facility to divide and share IP Address, so if a network device (PC) connected to a computer will be able to enjoy an IP Address or Internet connection that is spread by the Operating System, the operating system instance can be used is all client server-based operating systems, such as Windows NT, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server, MikroTik (Linux based), and others.
